We are a group of activists that originally started out in West London, and now forge ties with fellow campaigners across the nation. Our aim is simple: to make sure our parliamentarians follow through on the decision of the British people to leave the European Union, and to counter the negative voices in traditional and social media about Brexit and the future of our country.
Sovereignty, democracy, borders, trade, finance, security: the reasons are just the same as they were when we voted to leave the EU in June 2016. If not more so. Every day, we learn about new areas where we can make progress as an island nation and protect our interests: ports, fisheries, agriculture, the financial industry, and other vital areas. Here’s the good news you don’t hear in the press.
It can all seem so confusing. We voted to leave the EU, so that should be it, right? In theory, yes, but in practice we’d like to do it smoothly, minimise disruption to our economy, and stay on good terms with our European friends. So we need to pass laws in Parliament to ensure that British law is supreme in future, and negotiate a withdrawal agreement and new trade deal with the EU.
The referendum happened, Leave won, and now the MPs and diplomats will sort it out. Isn’t that it? In an ideal world, it would be, but we need to stay vigilant and ensure the government sticks to the democratic mandate given to it through the EU Referendum in 2016, as well as in the General Election of 2017, in which all MPs from major parties committed to leaving the European Union.
Want to play your part in making sure that democracy is honoured and respected, and that our vote is delivered? If you have some spare time (or are keen to make time!) and want to get involved in campaign activities, whether from home or out on the streets, we have a role for you. You’ll be surprised at what you might be able to contribute.
